Keep it in the Family! Production Day 8

There are a few characters that don't include Cece or me in the opening sequence. These include Annie's grandma, her guidance counselor, her dad, and her relative. The actors that will play these characters have been pre-casted as members of my family. I figured this would be the easiest thing, since it would be difficult, not to mention weird, to source other adults that would act for me. My mom will be playing the guidance counselor, my brother will play the relative, and my dad & grandma will be playing themselves. The only person who knows they will be acting is my mom, and that's only because I had to do her makeup for the makeup blog.

The first person I was able to film was my grandma, who upon hearing she would be acting in my film started to complain that her hair wasn't done right. After I assured her that she wouldn't be in it for long and she can wear her hat if she wanted to, she was okay with my idea. I sat her down on the couch with the large shawl, and read her lines to her. Even though it took a couple tries to get her to project and express herself, it eventually worked out and I achieved the product I was looking for.

My mom was the next person I filmed, which ran smoother than expected since she knew about my project. First, I did her makeup like I did in the makeup blog, then I went into her closet and showed her the outfit I wanted her to wear. I then sat her down at the dining room table and placed props like loose papers and pens around to make it look more like a desk. Even though my mom found it difficult to get into the foul character, she delivered her lines differently in separate takes for me to choose from.

Before my dad got the chance to switch out of his work clothes, I urged him to act in front of the camera for a short while. His enunciation and projection needed work, so through my directing, I was able to have him give a satisfactory performance.

The last person I had to film was my brother, who was already busy since it was his and his girlfriend's anniversary. After I annoyingly asked him multiple times to simply say one line, he agreed on the condition that this would be quick. Since my brother had places to be, he made sure that the few takes he did were quality so I wouldn't ask for him to do them over again.
