Storyboard Blog

First Scene- The music video will open with a radio that will be 'playing' Everybody Wants to Rule the World. It will the shot will start as a close-up of the volume notch, then the camera will zoom out to show the entire radio and its surroundings.
Second Scene- The following scene will be me playing the keyboard and grooving to the music. I will be wearing sunglasses and my wardrobe will be colorful and big.
Third Scene- I am planning on a shot of a car driving past, crowds of people, and potentially a plane taking off. This will be the final scene before the lyrics begin since the song I chose has a long instrumental.
Fourth Scene- This scene will be me lip-synching for a few quick seconds.
Fifth Scene- Since the 80s are known for their less-than-stellar production on some music videos, I made sure to implement a purposefully cheesy transition.
Sixth Scene- This will be a stop motion-esque scene with piles of books growing around me as I read them.
Seventh Scene- A slow-motion pan of my record player, records, and me sorting through them.
Eigth Scene- A shot of ducks or iguanas walking or eating.
Ninth Scene- I will be lip-synching the title of the song.
Tenth Scene- The 'random' scene, basically the scene that doesn't look like it makes sense or looks funny because almost every 80s music video had this.
Eleventh Scene- Me playing the piano coreespondingly to the song.
Twelth Scene- The closing shot will be a slow motion walking into the sunset with fists pumping into the air, like in Rocky or The Breakfast Club.

Working With What I've Got! Production Day 9

Today was spent entirely filming the 'vlogging' sections of the opening sequence. These are the parts where Annie is talking directly to the camera, and therefore talking to the audience. Since Annie has no budget as a middle schooler, her backdrop for this is a blanket sheet hung over a clothing rack. In turn, this will create a sense of rawness and relatability for our protagonist. In these scenes, we will see every emotion for Annie from immense confidence to undeniable awkwardness. These narrations will also continue over shots of Annie going throughout her daily life. I will use this to my advantage to instill humor into the project, in the sense that if Annie is saying something funny there will be something more serious shown. My inspiration for this derives from the movie Eighth Grade , where the main character attempts to seem confident on the internet, but is really a nervous wreck.   Props: Katherine and I will be focusing on the versatility of the Nintendo Switch, therefore we will be using a couch, chair, car, TV, adaption chord, and game cartridge. Costume: Katherine and I will be the 2 main people in this commercial. To go with the laid-back style of Nintendo commercials, my partner and I will be wearing casual clothing. This includes but is not limited to hoodies, jeans, shorts, t-shirts, and sneakers. For hairstyles, we would either be wearing our hair down, or put up in some way like a ponytail, headbands, or an updo. Production Blog 3: Makeup

To accompany the 80's style, I wanted to do a bold and bright makeup look. I recorded myself putting on the makeup and sped it up using the app "Video Speed Changer." What is shown below is the basic eye makeup. In order of the video, I first show the lip balm I put in beforehand. After I put concealer under my eyes, then eyeliner, and finally I apply eyebrow gel and smooth it out. In the next clip, I show a bright pink lipstick that I substitute for eyeshadow. I've had the lipstick since I was 13 and I never use it, so to make this process budget-friendly, I dug it up and used it on my eyelids. I made sure not to smudge the eyeliner I had put on and went beyond my crease line to make a more dramatic look. After, I put on mascara and the eye makeup is done. Finally, I use purple lipstick excessively as a blush. I didn't worry much about blending since it would pop more on camera if I didn't blend as much.
